Restorative Yoga, MAHAMRITYUNJAYA, KIRTAN, AND KAI

  • Atmavidya Yoga and Meditation 10 Plover Street Christchurch, Canterbury, 8062 New Zealand (map)

The afternoon practice will begin at 3.00pm with simple supported restorative asana posture practices followed by Pranaayaamaa then Mantra Meditation practice with the chanting of Mahamrityunjaya around 4.30pm to allow expansion of connection with courage and transformation in the face of the challenges of life.

May we extend this resonance to all beings to help grow our collective wisdom and compassion.

The Mahamrityunjaya chanting practice will be followed by the mantra meditation practice of Kirtan from around 5.00pm.

During this time we invite sacred and conscious speech from what is in the Heart..

Kirtan is a form of purification and liberation. The mantras sensitise us and polish away the clutter in our heads and melt the numbness in our hearts so that we can feel clear, awake and brilliantly alive.

We welcome the opportunity to experience spaciousness and aroha through these beautiful practices.

Feel free to come to any part/s or all of the afternoon evening.

Followed by: shared plant based kai

Time: 3.00 - 7.00pm

Venue: Plover Street, Southshore

Contribution: $35 or by Koha for Peace in our community to Yoga Education in Prisons Trust

"It was found that during repetitive singing of kirtan,

the brain registers the sound waves, nada,

which influence all other wave patterns of the brain.

These waves awaken alpha rhythms which immediately induce tranquility.

Thus by singing kirtan, we experience peace of mind."

Swami Satyananda Saraswati
